Position Summary:
Our client is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their growing team. This position will play a key role in supporting both asset management and partnership deliverables, with dotted line reporting to both departments. The Senior Accountant will work directly with the CAO and will be responsible for overseeing and mentoring two staff accountants. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of public accounting experience combined with private side exposure, and will be well-versed in preparing financial reports and closing books.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support both asset management and partnership teams with various financial deliverables.
- Oversee, mentor, and coach two staff accountants, ensuring their professional development.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and closing the books each month.
- Coordinate the preparation and review of financial reports, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Collaborate with the CAO to ensure accurate financial reporting and assist with audits, as needed.
- Ensure timely and accurate accounting processes, including reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
- Maintain strong communication with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and resolve any accounting-related issues.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of public accounting experience combined with private sector exposure.
- Proven experience in closing books and preparing financial reports.
- Strong people management skills, with experience coaching, mentoring, and overseeing staff accountants.
- CPA or actively working towards obtaining CPA certification is required.
- Knowledge of GAAP and experience with asset management and partnership accounting is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.
