Finance Manager POST NUMBER: 431785
The Finance Manager is responsible for the financial management and planning functions, including accounts payable and receivable and other general accounting and budgeting tasks of the organizations. The incumbent in this role is also responsible for monitoring budgets, managing records, reconciling transactions, and preparing reports and balance sheets. As a Finance Manager, you will work closely with various departments to ensure alignment and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
About the Opportunity
- Performing full-cycle accounting and financial functions for 2 organizations
- Overseeing and coordinating financial reporting for provincial and federal regulations
- Overseeing all accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Ensuring all month/quarter/year-end accounting duties and financial reporting are completed in a timely and accurate manner
- Filing government remittances
- Preparing year-end auditing requirements and supporting the year-end audit process
- Other related duties as assigned
- CPA designation completed or in the process is preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
- Minimum four years of related experience in accounting or finance roles.
- OSAP/Financial Aid administration experience
- Must have prior experience in QuickBooks and advanced knowledge of Excel
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication as well as written skills, coupled with a strong sense of self-motivation and accountability
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage workload and conflicting priorities, handle multiple tasks, and complete assignments with high accuracy and attention to detail
- Working effectively and accurately under pressure of high volume and frequent interruptions
- Excellent computer skills using office productivity software such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to work in a team environment and exercise tact, discretion, flexibility, and sound judgment
- A positive, enthusiastic, can-do attitude and a genuine interest in working within an educational environment
