Title: Sr Manager/Manager, Technical Accounting (Leveling Dependent on Experience)
Location: San Diego - Hybrid, 4 days mandatory onsite
Salary: $125-170k Bonus RSUs
Position Overview:
The Manager of Technical Accounting plays a critical leadership role within the Corporate Accounting Practices and Reporting team. This position is responsible for:
- Preparing and submitting quarterly, annual, and other financial reports to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
- Collaborating with business units and corporate functions to assess and document the appropriate accounting treatment for complex and/or new types of transactions.
- Leading initiatives that assist and advise business units and corporate teams on matters such as acquisitions, dispositions, and the implementation of new accounting standards.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in technical accounting and financial reporting, with at least 5 years in a Big Four accounting firm. Strong communication skills, the ability to work autonomously, and the capacity to influence key organizational decisions are essential.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
- At least 7 years of experience in Technical Accounting, Financial Reporting, or a similar field.
- Advanced degrees in a relevant field may substitute for up to two years of work experience (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the technology sector.
- Familiarity with XBRL tagging.
- Strong technical aptitude, including proficiency with systems such as WDesk, Oracle, HFM, and Microsoft applications.
- Experience working in large, matrixed organizations.
- Proven leadership in a technical accounting role, with or without direct reports.
- At least 3 years of experience with a Big Four accounting firm.
- CPA Certification or equivalent.
