Controller  - Our Long Beach based client is seeking a Controller to help lead their accounting team. Position is On-site, located in Long Beach airport area. Smaller but growing company so the position will be hands on. Ideally seeking a dynamic leadership and management skills. Industries that would be helpful would involve distribution, logistics, or transportation.  The following is a list of requirements and job responsibilities for the Controller:
Responsibilities:
  • Financial statement preparation, analysis, and detailed monthly & quarterly reporting.
  • Direct the depreciation of capital fixed assets, asset acquisitions, disposals, and transfers.
  • Strong general ledger month end close for multiple entities.
  • Full month-end close, journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries
  • Prepare cash flow analysis, P&L forecasts & budgeting.
  • Set and comply with internal controls, policies & procedures.
  • Interface with external CPA firm and banks.
  • Supervise department general accounting department including GL Staff, accounts receivable (AR) & accounts payable (AP).
  • Manage all account & bank reconciliations.
  • The salary for this position is commensurate with experience but is in the range of $130,000 to $160,000 base, plus bonus and comprehensive benefits.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Navision a plus
Requirements:
  • CPA (inactive is fine)
  • Minimum 8 years related work experience.
  • Experience with Inventory & Multi-state sales & use tax
  • Mix of Wholesale & retail ideal
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics/Navision would be preferred.
  • Ideally have public accounting experience in audit, policies & procedures, internal controls, strong GAAP knowledge, and experience in financial statement preparation.
  • Excellent communication and ability to deliver results presentations.
  • Bilingual in Mandarin a plus!
