About the Opportunity
- Prepare the monthly financials and quarterly Bordereaux reports for Reinsurers
- Responsible for the monthly journal entries and accruals, as well as review the reconciliations and age receivables
- Work with Director Finance to book the monthly accounting adjustments and accruals for reporting
- On-going management of the fixed asset register
- Assist in the preparation of monthly internal financial statements and supporting documentation, including cash flow analysis
- Preparation of monthly P&C1 returns, and schedules to support tax filings and any audit requirements as needed throughout the year
- Manage the review of the monthly consolidation of claims reporting
- Assist with IFRS 17 reporting and any accounting changes
- Provide guidance with respect to the company’s chart of accounts ensuring consistency across entities
- Assist the Director Finance to draft quarterly financial statements, investment and cash flow forecast
- Assist in on-going research of new accounting rules to help the company make informed accounting changes
- Work with actuarial group to provide and review monthly data as required.
- Work with the CEO on special projects developing sensitivity analysis as required
- Help prepare the annual budget and document assumptions
About You
- CPA, CA or CPA CMA, or CPA CGA Designation
- Preferred experience in or currently working in insurance industry
- Knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains would be an asset
- Superior Excel and modelling skills
- Basic understanding of reserving
- Strong Technical Accounting skills
Salary Range
$120,000-$130,000/year
