Application Development Manager
We are seeking an experienced Application Development Manager to lead the design and implementation of innovative application solutions. This role involves collaborating with technical teams to define system architecture, configuration, and development for various platforms, including workflow management tools, secure data transport, customer service software, and clearing and settlement services.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled architect, effective communicator, and team-oriented professional with a deep understanding of application development and business requirements. This position reports to the VP of Technology and requires onsite presence three days a week in Durham, NC.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop application solutions, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
- Collaborate with business users, product owners, and development teams to define architecture and best practices.
- Lead and oversee the implementation of platforms for workflow management, secure data transport, and customer communication.
- Provide technical guidance to the development, testing, and deployment teams.
- Analyze system requirements and recommend solutions to optimize functionality.
- Ensure applications meet compliance and performance standards.
- Manage and review projects to ensure successful execution within deadlines.
- Foster a collaborative environment that promotes innovation and team success.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems or related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- 6 years of progressive experience in application support, development, and web services.
- 5 years of direct project management experience.
- 3 years of experience with insurance administrative platforms.
- Strong knowledge of annuities, life insurance, and related financial transactions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Skilled in interpreting and resolving complex problems while maintaining a focus on innovation.

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
