

Human Resources Generalist (12-month contract) POST NUMBER: 443126
- Support the priorities of the provincial HR stakeholders by providing effective guidance, coaching and advice on human resources related matters in accordance with applicable legislation, policies, processes and procedures. The approach includes identification of risk, consideration of impact to other agencies and recommended solutions.
- Supports the development of provincial HR strategies and projects, innovates and facilitates initiatives to support the company’s priorities.
- Provides expert advice, guidance, education, and support to employees and managers across the Association on a variety of HR issues, ensuring adherence to the company’s policies and employment legislation and supporting management decision making with proactive advice and solutions designed to meet current and future business needs.
- Provides support to the provincial committees by facilitating collaboration, discussions on best practices and emerging issues; support the work arising from provincial strategies impacting the sector; and provide secretariat role duties within these committees, as required.
- Participates as needed in sector wide initiatives where the Association plays a major role on behalf of Ontario’s child welfare agencies as it relates to human resources and represent the company on committees, and other ad hoc working groups.
- Proactively fosters relationships with provincial human resources leaders and other stakeholders to implement high impact human resources initiatives in line with the company’s Strategic plan.
- Manage the recruitment and selection process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Responsibilities include reviewing and refining job descriptions, conducting job evaluations, approving job advertisements, establishing screening and assessment criteria, overseeing application reviews, and finalizing employment offers, secondment agreements, or other relevant documentation.
- Monitors, maintains and completes the filing of AODA and any other legislative compliance, as required.
- Supports the development and maintenance of the performance review process and provides advice and assistance to management as required.
- Leads and maintains the ADP WFN time and attendance and HRIS system, including preparing HR data reports as required.
- Supports all aspects of workplace investigations, including appropriate documentation and reports, and making recommendations regarding outcomes.
- In partnership with the company Learning team, promotes training programs to enhance the development of the child welfare training system as well as the company staff professional development initiatives.
- Develop and maintain policy/program as required.
- Lead the provincial Human Resources survey as well as any Key HR metrics for the province.
- Fosters an environment of high performance, with an emphasis on service excellence, continuous improvement and teamwork to achieve high standards for the department.
- Ensures Association’s Accountability Statements including but not limited to Confidentiality, Code of Conduct, Diversity, Discrimination and Harassment policies, etc. are embodied personally, as well as within the team.
- Perform other duties as required.
About You
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in Human Resources management or related field from a recognized academic institution.
- Minimum of five (5) years demonstrated progressive experience in Human Resources.
- Possesses or currently working towards CHRP/CHRL designation, OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
Pay Range:
$38 - $43 an hour
