M&A Project Manager (Director)
Our client, a leading company in the biotech sector, is seeking an experienced M&A Project Manager to support the company’s ongoing acquisition and merger activities. The position will serve as a primary project manager, liaising between various departments such as finance, SEC reporting, GL accounting, and outsourced providers. The role requires strong technical accounting skills, project management expertise, and the ability to ensure a smooth merger process. This position is eligible to be fully remote but requires a hybrid schedule of on-site work three days a week for team collaboration.
Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary project manager for M&A activities, liaising between finance, SEC reporting, GL accounting, and external providers.

Support the Director of SEC Reporting and the Controller in technical accounting, stock and equity transactions, and project management related to the merger.

Manage manual accounting processes, organizing data prior to execution and ensuring accurate reporting and disclosures.

Drive project coordination to ensure smooth execution of the merger process.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.

Experience with mergers and acquisitions, particularly in stock administration, option acceleration, and restricted stock settlements.

Strong technical accounting acumen and experience with external reporting and disclosures.

Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.

Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders effectively.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
Compensation:
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure: $105 - $125 per hour. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
