Vaco is exclusively working with a top client in Phoenix to hire a Senior Data Architect for their local office. In this role, we are looking for someone at the top of their game, who will bring best practices around architecture, ETL design and development. You will design and build databases, develop strategies for warehouse implementation, data acquisition and access, and data archiving and recovery. You will review new data sources for adherence to the standards set forth by the team and bring a deep understanding and many years of experience working within a SQL environment. We are looking for those with a strong track record of supporting and leading multiple data implementations and guiding teams with varying organizational sizes and technical environments. This role requires someone who has a deep understanding of how platforms interact with other technologies and systems as well as prior experience delivering efficient, secure, high performance, and easy-to-support solutions primarily within the Microsoft suite of technologies. As a leader within data architecture, you will oversee design, development, implementation, documentation, and optimization of an assortment of data solutions. Core Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to data engineering teams in the execution of data architecture plans
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, Software Developers, and Business Analysts to ensure data architecture is aligned with operational analytic needs.
  • Establishes standards and best practices for database design, data integration, and data warehousing, ensuing integrity and quality data
  • Provides technical leadership, creates standards for technical approaches and/or practices for their platform
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and design solutions to meet business needs.
  • Maintains standards for interaction with the data platform and the overall health and efficiency of the data platform.
  • Proactively work with other cross functional partners to keep their platform at a reasonable version level
  • Provide guidance on the use of cloud data platform tools (Azure) for data storage and processing.
  • Maintains awareness of trends, new tools, efficiencies - - shares with entire team on routine basis.
  • Provides input and guidance to senior IT leadership for planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Design, document, develop, test, debug, deploy, and support a variety of customizations or configurations for their platform.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
  • 8 years of data management experience in a Microsoft ecosystem
  • 4 years of experience with cloud-based solutions and/or hybrid connectivity
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical and decision-making skills, and ability to work on cross-functional teams
  • Solid understanding and usage of source control solutions
  • Experienced with change and release management
  • Strong requirements gathering and documentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Management or seven to ten years of equivalent data architecture experience
