Staff Accountant POST NUMBER: 442300
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client’s finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the following functions:
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, deferred revenue, and month-end close processes.
- Support the processing and management of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate coding and timely payments/collections.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant accounting standards (GAAP)
- Reconciliation of bank and credit card statements and cash payments
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports
- Processing and reviewing expense reports
- Additional areas of support will include contract management, HR, administrative tasks towards deadlines and deliverables, and assistance to executive leadership.
- Ad hoc projects as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the financial services or a similar industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with QuickBooks required.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations (GAAP, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
