Key Responsibilities:
- Examine financial statements and accounting entries for accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, and internal policies.
- Evaluate internal controls and identify weaknesses or risks.
- Prepare audit reports and present findings to management or clients.
- Recommend improvements to processes or controls.
- Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure proper implementation.
- Stay up to date with changes in financial laws and auditing standards.
- CPA certification is?required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field?required. MBA or equivalent highly preferred.
- Minimum of 6-8 years of progressive accounting experience with 2 years of supervisory experience?required.
- Additional certifications, or ambition to obtain certifications, (such CMA, CFE, CIA) and public accounting experience (Big 4) is preferred.
- Experience with SEC reporting and SOX compliance preferred.
- Experience with companies undergoing initial public offerings (IPOs) and expansion to multiple locations would be highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP.
- Experience in financial services industry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with NetSuite, Great Plains, Oracle or SAP is a plus.
Workstyle
- Onsite 5 days a week in New York, NY or Tampa, Florida
