Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Business Analyst to drive control optimization and automation efforts within fraud and banking operations. This high-impact role focuses on improving risk control environments by identifying inefficiencies, assessing automation potential, and leading prioritization efforts for scalable remediation.
This is a strategic role that operates at the intersection of risk management, business analysis, and emerging technologies (RPA, AI). You will lead senior-level assessments, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and serve as a key interface between control owners and technical automation teams.
You’ll also mentor junior analysts and play a lead role in driving control rationalization across multiple business units.

Key Responsibilities:
Control Assessment & Optimization
  • Lead deep-dive reviews of existing control environments in fraud and claims
  • Identify control gaps, overlaps, or inefficiencies; recommend right-sized improvements
  • Apply control design best practices aligned to regulatory expectations and operational goals
Automation Strategy & Requirements Gathering
  • Define business cases and document requirements for automation opportunities
  • Partner with an automation team (tech stack-agnostic) to scope solutions
  • Evaluate control effort, complexity, and value to support initiative prioritization
Project Prioritization & Execution Planning
  • Develop prioritization frameworks based on business value, risk exposure, and effort
  • Assist with execution roadmaps and coordinate delivery timelines
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication
  • Serve as the bridge between business stakeholders, control owners, and automation partners
  • Translate technical and control-specific language into clear, actionable documentation
  • Prepare executive-ready presentations and analysis summaries

Qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience in risk management, control design, or business analysis in a banking or financial services environment
  • Demonstrated experience in control rationalization and control framework optimization
  • Strong familiarity with automation tools and strategies (e.g., RPA, AI, workflow automation)
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with risk, fraud, ops, and IT
  • Hands-on experience building or improving controls in fraud, financial crimes, or claims operations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to synthesize and present complex data clearly
  • Tech-forward and analytical; thrives in environments without rigid frameworks or legacy systems
