Salary: $110,000 - $130,000
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join our team in North Bergen, NJ. This role requires a hands-on individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is capable of handling a wide range of financial tasks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing general ledger tasks, overseeing accounts payable processes, and eventually taking on key responsibilities related to financial statement preparation, budgeting, and forecasting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and manage General Ledger (GL) tasks, including bank and credit card reconciliations, equipment loan reconciliation, and depreciation management related to fixed assets.
- Take ownership of the accounts payable process, matching invoices to tickets, and managing a highly detailed and time-consuming AP process.
- Work closely with other team members to eventually oversee financial statement preparation, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow analysis.
- Assist in other ad-hoc accounting tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of QuickBooks is required.
- Detail-oriented with a hands-on approach to managing daily accounting tasks, including the AP process.
- Ability to handle complex financial tasks, such as loan reconciliation and depreciation for fixed assets.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities, including financial statement preparation and other leadership tasks.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting.
- Familiarity with fixed asset management.
