Job Description:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounts receivable and accounts payable operations, along with broader accounting management functions. This role requires hands-on involvement in daily financial activities, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable Management:
- Monitor and manage accounts receivable to ensure timely collection of outstanding invoices
- Proactively contact customers regarding past due accounts
- Manage daily check deposits and post cash receipts
- Prepare AR aging and cash collection reports
- Review and post vendor invoices
- Process vendor payments and maintain communication regarding payment status
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Analyze outgoing payments to support cost rationalization
- Prepare recurring journal entries and perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and support monthly financial reviews
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency in AR/AP and general accounting
- Assist with annual financial audits and tax return filings
- Manage vendor 1099 filings and sales tax filings
- Collaborate with product and customer service teams to resolve billing discrepancies
- Educate non-finance teams on accounting best practices
- Stay informed about GAAP and industry regulations
- Maintain proficiency in Prophet 21 and other ERP systems
- Participate in professional development related to accounting and financial systems
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum 4 years of experience in accounting roles
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills
- Ability to pass background check and provide references
- Perform additional duties as assigned
