Accounts Payable Specialist POST NUMBER: 449922
We are partnering with a reputable and growing organization in the Raleigh area that is seeking a skilled Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. This is a high-impact role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is passionate about accuracy, process improvement, and vendor relationship management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice entry, 3-way matching (invoice, PO, packing slip), and payment processing
- Coordinate weekly check runs and electronic payments (ACH, wire transfers)
- Reconcile AP subledger to the general ledger and assist with month-end close
- Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and maintain positive relationships
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., procurement, operations) to ensure timely approvals and accurate coding
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records, including W-9s and payment terms
- Assist with audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements
- Support process improvement initiatives and help streamline AP workflows
- 2 years of high-volume AP experience, preferably in a multi-entity or shared services environment
- Proficiency with accounting systems such as JD Edwards, NetSuite, QuickBooks, or SAP
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Experience with Nexus Payables or similar AP automation tools is a plus
- Familiarity with 1099 processing and vendor compliance preferred
