Role: Director of Human Resources
Salary: $130,000 - $150,000/yearly
Location: New York City (Onsite, Hybrid)
About the role: We are seeking a seasoned HR leader to support an entertainment company, headquartered in NYC. This role will report to the Head of HR Business Partnering and will be responsible for guiding the people strategy for a team of over 200 employees. The Director will play a key role in shaping organizational culture, driving talent initiatives, and ensuring operational excellence across all HR functions.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership, aligning workforce strategies with business goals.
- Lead initiatives that drive organizational effectiveness, talent optimization, and team engagement.
- Support structural planning and workforce design to enable innovation and scalability.
- Leverage HR analytics to inform decision-making and enhance employee outcomes.
- Design and execute programs that foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace.
- Champion internal communication strategies and employee recognition efforts.
- Collect and analyze feedback to continuously improve the employee experience.
- Provide expert guidance on employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance issues.
- Manage sensitive investigations and ensure fair, consistent outcomes.
- Partner with legal and compliance teams to uphold employment standards and policies.
- Maintain thorough documentation aligned with disciplinary protocols and HR best practices.
- Coach leaders on effective people management and succession planning.
- Collaborate with Learning & Development to deliver impactful training and growth opportunities.
- Oversee performance review cycles and support a culture of continuous feedback.
- Coordinate with Talent Acquisition to align hiring strategies with business needs.
- Work with Compensation to manage salary reviews, promotions, and market benchmarking.
- Provide guidance on benefits programs and leave administration in partnership with internal teams.
Requirements:
- 7-10 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in marketing, media, entertainment, or similar industries
- Strong business acumen and strategic HR leadership to align organizational goals
- Self-starter and ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Problem-solver and ability work across all levels of the organization
- Knowledge of NY labor laws including payroll, wages, and leave
