Interim Controller (Part-Time | Contract)
Hours: 15–20/week | Potential to convert to full-time W2
Vaco is partnering with a mission-driven private equity firm to hire an Interim Controller who will support fund and corporate accounting, reporting, and Carta management. This is a high-impact role with the potential to grow into a long-term leadership position.
Must-Haves:

CPA with a Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field

8 years of accounting experience, including 3 years in PE, VC, or family office

Direct experience with SPVs, multi-entity structures, and partnership accounting

Strong working knowledge of GAAP, capital account mechanics, and tax reporting

Proficient in Carta, QuickBooks Online, and Google Workspace

Based in Texas and available for occasional in-person meetings in San Antonio

Strong communicator with leadership experience and cross-functional collaboration skills
