Overview

This is a high-impact leadership role within a growing manufacturing company that is expanding its footprint and transitioning to a more professional, growth-oriented environment. The Controller will take ownership of day-to-day accounting operations, lead the month-end close process, and support budgeting, forecasting, and ERP system implementation. The role offers long-term growth potential, including succession planning for the CFO.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead financial operations, including invoicing, accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, cost accounting, tax compliance, inventory accounting, and reconciliations
  • Manage and optimize month-end and year-end close processes
  • Deliver monthly reporting packages, EBITDA bridge analysis, and variance reporting
  • Establish and enforce financial policies and procedures
  • Monitor financial performance through analysis of spending, variances, and trends
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax preparers, providing timely documentation and support
  • Prepare and manage budgets and forecasts, including data collection and analysis
  • Support financial planning and analysis to inform business decisions
  • Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff
  • Oversee monthly and annual inventory counts
  • Participate in strategic projects and broader finance initiatives

Qualifications

  • 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA preferred but not required
  • Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience in manufacturing accounting, including bill of materials and inventory management
  • Proven success in audits, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Hands-on, team-oriented, and comfortable in a lean environment
  • Experience with ERP systems and process improvement
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated stability in previous roles and interest in long-term growth
