Senior Payroll Manager POST NUMBER: 454092
Location: Hybrid NYC
Salary: $120,000-125,000 base
About the Role:
We’re seeking a Senior Payroll Manager with experience in ADP Workforce Now (WFN) and Workforce Manager (WFM) to lead high-volume payroll operations for a large, unionized workforce. You’ll be responsible for ensuring payroll is processed accurately, efficiently, and in full compliance with all legal and contractual requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day payroll operations for over 4,000 employees across 310 properties
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, including salaries, bonuses, garnishments, taxes, and benefits
- Maintain payroll system data: new hires, terminations, pay changes, PTO, and more
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, including FLSA and Prevailing Wage standards
- Manage payroll for both union and non-union staff, with deep familiarity in 32BJ and NYC unions (e.g., Local 941)
- Oversee payroll audits and prepare documentation for internal and external reviews
- Continuously optimize payroll processes and systems to improve efficiency
- Supervise and mentor payroll staff, including hiring, training, and conducting performance reviews
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, HR, Business Administration, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in a senior payroll role
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and experience with ADP WFN and WFM required
- Experience with payroll compliance in union environments, especially 32BJ, is non-negotiable
