Job Description

Our Ideal candidate is a highly-skilled, detail-oriented person who excels at multitasking. This person will act as a point of contact between the different parts of the organization and external parties involved in the financial reporting process (legal, tax, auditors, etc.). This role may handle or assist in a range of tasks including technical accounting, preparing SEC filings, preparing and reviewing internal management reports, budgeting/forecasting, audits and compliance. For this role, one must be analytical, collaborative, and trustworthy. We are looking for a highly motivated, eager-to-learn individual who can help streamline and improve our processes as we grow and scale.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

? Assist in preparation and review of reporting documents in accordance with GAAP, including 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K filings, and internal monthly reports

? Prepare footnote support schedules, tie-out support for reports and complete and review of disclosure checklists

? Assist with research and preparation of technical accounting memos

? Collaborate with the general accounting team to complete month-end close and prepare corporate financial reports for internal analysis and external publication

? Collaborate with the legal team to ensure compliance with regulations

? Work closely with external auditors to manage the financial quarterly review and annual audit process

? Provide financial analysis including explanations of variances between actual and budget/prior period

? Ensure internal controls over financial reporting, including disclosure controls and procedures, are adequate and operating effectively

? Participate in monthly/quarterly financial close review meetings to ensure appropriate accounting of transactions and accurate external reporting

? Participate in evaluation and implementation of new FASB accounting pronouncements and SEC regulations

? Participate in special projects and ad hoc requests, as needed

 

Required Qualifications:

? Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business, or related field

? CPA and public accounting experience required (Big 4 preferred)

? 5 years of experience in public accounting, financial reporting, accounting or similar role

? Sense of urgency and deadline orientation

? Excellent MS Office and Google Suite proficiency

? Experience utilizing Oracle NetSuite and Workiva preferred

? High level of accountability, accuracy, and efficiency, especially when multitasking

? Outstanding organizational and time management skills

? Excellent verbal and written communications skills

? Discretion and confidentiality

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
