Job Description

The Admin Specialist works with jurisdictions to submit building permits and obtain business licenses and renewals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Works with jurisdictions to submit building permits and obtain business licenses and renewals.
  • Prepares permit packages and works with permit runners.
  • Answers incoming telephone calls and responds to other department inquiries.
  • Works with accounting department to obtain funds.
  • Assists with other projects as needed.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned, including overtime as required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend building plans is a plus.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong computer skills including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat and the ability to conduct internet research.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent follow-up skills and record keeping.
  • Ability to use various office equipment including scanning equipment, multi-line phone and copier/printer.
  • Ability to type at least 35 WPM.
  • Maintain a positive and professional image.
  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
  • Must always possess the highest standards of integrity.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
