Job Description

Vaco Birmingham has been engaged by one of Birmingham's fastest-growing companies to identify and recruit a Benefits Specialist. The Specialist will be responsible for managing, planning and analyzing the operations of health and welfare benefit programs while ensuring that excellent customer service and quality benefit plans are provided to all employees. The incumbent will serve as the primary contact for plan vendors and third party administrators. This role will design employee benefit plans, evaluate new benefit programs, improve existing programs, monitor benefit and 401(K) administration. The Benefits Specialist, with support from Director of HR, will be responsible for the analytical and technical support in the delivery of the benefit programs.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree plus three to five years of relevant work experience in benefit plan and 401(K) administration is required.
  • Strong communication, systems, organization and project management skills.
  • Highly developed analytical and technical skills required including proficiency with Microsoft Office products as well as HRIS.
  • Incumbent must have extensive knowledge of pertinent employment laws including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, NH Workers Compensation, Social Security and DOL requirements.
  • PHR/SPHR and CEBS certification strongly preferred.
