Job Description

Vaco is working with a client in the central downtown Indy area who is looking for a project accountant on a contract basis that has experience in the construction industry.

Requirements

  • Responsible for all accounts receivable and accounts payable and basic accounting needs.
  • Processing Vendor/ Subcontractors invoices prepare weekly payment and Bi weekly payroll process.
  • Coordinate with project manager for monthly project pay applications and payment collection
  • Monthly sales tax reporting.
  • Setup and maintain project financial information. Review of project profitability and responsible for preparation management reports and statements, as may be required.
  • Administer process for construction-lien notices, placement of liens and lien releases for all projects.
  • Maintain project files and documents, contracts & insurance requirements for projects
  • Works with customers, subcontractors Project Managers and coordinators in resolving invoicing issues.
  • Prepare/gather materials and obtain documentation as may be required for internal and external auditors.
  • Perform other tasks, as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years accounting experience.
  • Must have construction industry experience.
  • Knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, time management and follow-up skills required
  • High level of organization and professionalism
  • Highly detail oriented with strong ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must be well organized, possess attention to detail, able to multi-task, understand the need to document work and have the ability to work with several different project managers concurrently.
