Job Description

OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking a Controller for a contract opportunity with one of our clients in the Research Triangle.

The Controller is responsible for overseeing the preparation of the company's financial statements and managing accounting processes including month-end, quarterly reporting, AP/AR, account reconciliations, coordination of audits, and internal controls. Additionally, the Controller will be involved in the budgeting, forecasting, and planning process. The Controller will report directly to the CFO and will be expected to provide leadership to the rest of the accounting group.

Other responsibilities of the contract role include:

  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements as per US GAAP
  • Coordinate the preparation of internal management and regulatory reporting
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Ensure accuracy of financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Additional duties as required


Skills and experiences:

  • 5+ years of accounting and finance experience
  • Proven leadership and team management experience
  • Advanced degree in Accounting or Business
  • CPA or equivalent preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Excel using pivot tables and v-lookups
  • Experience using ERP software - SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics suite
  • Experience using reporting software - OneStream, Adaptive Planning, Hyperion
