A Downtown LA consumer goods company is searching for a Controller to oversee the financial management and daily accounting operations of the company. The Controller will support presentations to the board and work closely with senior leadership. This person needs to have a strong accounting and have solid knowledge of GAAP. What you need for this Controller role:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, advanced degree a plus
  • Consumer goods and/or wholesale experience required
  • Experience working with multi-store grocery chain retail stores required
  • Experience working with co-packers/co-manufacturers preferred
  • CPA license preferred
  • NetSuite experience preferred
  • Experience in coordinating audit and month/year-end close
  • Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex financial information to all individuals in the company

What you will be doing in this Controller role - You will:

  • Oversee all accounting operations
  • Create and record business processes to maintain internal controls and safeguards for receipts of revenue, procurement, costs, and actual expenditures
  • Organize all audit activity
  • Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner
  • Communicate monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements to senior management
  • Direct the preparation of the yearly budget and forecasts as well as reporting variances
  • Forecast company cash flow
