Vaco Atlanta is recruiting for a Contract (9 months in duration) Fixed Assets Accounting Consultant for a client of ours in Alpharetta. If you have extensive knowledge of fixed asset accounting, we would love to talk with you about this position which is slated to start on December 9th.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in accounting system.
  • Track the compilation of project costs in the fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed.
  • Calculate the depreciation for all fixed assets
  • Review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation
  • Assist in the review of Capital Budgets to ensure PIP, Brand and Location objectives are captured
  • Review monthly CIP entries for all properties and move completed projects to fixed asset additions
  • Represent the company during any audit that involves fixed assets
  • Generate monthly renovation accounting information to regional controllers
  • Prepare monthly draws in accordance with owner or lender specifications
  • Prepare monthly reporting packages to owners.
  • Work with project coordinators on remitting appropriate sales taxes to the tax department for inclusion on the sales tax returns.

Analysis/Reporting

  • Forecast project cash/funding needs (pre-project) to ensure timely processing of capital invoices
  • Prepare and submit project progress reports; Budget, Project, Funding and Cash Status
    • Descriptive analysis of project budget versus actual (variance)
    • Descriptive analysis of project status (concerns, needs, mile stones, progress)
    • Descriptive analysis of Escrow Accounts and Project Cash Needs (current/forecast)
    • Descriptive analysis of Capital Cash forecast and actual expense (positive/negative)
  • Additional ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed


SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Knowledge of fiscal planning and contract management
  • Ability to communicate budget/technical project data using descriptive analysis
  • Ability to strategically align project/process recommendations with corporate/brand objectives
  • Proficient user of project management platforms


QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

  • Bachelor's Degree from a four year college or university with a degree in business required, preferably in finance or accounting
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience (with strong exposure to fixed asset accounting)
  • Advanced Excel skills including proficiency with pivot tables and lookups and writing advanced formulas
