Job Description

We are working with an independent automotive R&D facility. They are seeking a Technical Support Specialist looking to expand their horizons and grow their career. Right now, they need a "jack of all trades" that can help with the following:

Qualifications

  • Associates in Computer Sciences or other technical school degree in computing, networking, or information technology
  • Skills/Specialties/Experience include but are not limited to SQL, Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Epicor, and other company standard software
  • Basic networking skills
  • Basic electronic skills
  • Familiarity with changing topologies such as TCP/IP
  • Excellent PC and network skills, including operation, maintenance, and repair of such peripheral items such as disk drives, CD ROM's, DVD's, floppy drives, video displays, and various types of interface equipment
  • Excellent printer support skills including clearing paper jams, connectivity, and break/fix diagnostics
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Experience in analyzing, designing, testing, documenting, and implementing hardware and software systems
  • Experience in evaluating and improving system performance
  • Experience in desktop publishing and print vendor preparation/coordination
  • Certifications include Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) desired

Other Duties and Responsibilities (Non-Essential Functions)

  • Install, configure, document, maintain, upgrade, diagnose, troubleshoot, and test software programs, operating systems, device drivers, and service and security patches
  • Assist in the development of computer system operating guidelines
  • Clear and organize help desk assistance for software and hardware
  • Interpret project specifications
  • Participate in multiple projects simultaneously
  • Make technical decisions with moderate supervision
  • Research, test, and report results
  • Understand the structure and limitations of business processes
  • Offer technical support on-site, by phone, email, or in person to internal users
  • Stay abreast of both technical and interpersonal skillset to ensure sharp knowledge and skill set
Must have:
  • Microsoft office / O365
  • Knowledge of SQL and networking
  • Any CRM knowledge is a plus (Dynamics)
  • ERP (Epicor) is a plus
