Job Description

Job Title: Manager, Human Resources

Summary: Our Global manufacuring client has contracted Vaco to search for a Manager, Human Resources. Responsible for developing, implementing and coordinating policies and programs covering several of the following: employment, labor relations, wage and salary information, training, placement, safety and health, benefits and employee services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

1) Oversees and participates in employment activities to ensure that properly qualified employees are recruited and hired.

2) Develops programs, policies, procedures and controls regarding employment, and analyzes manpower, turnover and other personnel statistics.

3) Counsels supervisors regarding employee relations issues and ensures adherence to various state and federal regulations.

4) If applicable, participates in union-management contract negotiations. Ensures that all provisions of the agreement are implemented. Provided advice and guidance to management relative to the provisions of the agreement.

5) Develops and/or implements training programs including Lean Manufacturing, 5s and EEO/AAP training.

6) Coordinates the administration of employee safety, health, security, recreation and benefits programs.

7) Processes salary changes, monitors merit budget and initiates changes in status for payroll.

8) Prepares and issues manuals establishing human resource policies and interprets such as policies for executives and supervisors.

9) Must be flexible for multi-plant responsibilities.

10) Partners with plant leadership to provide innovative solutions to human capital development; as well as continuous improvement.

11) Participates in the Corporate Human Resources Action Plan.

12) Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; 3-5 years prior plant level Sr. HR Generalist and/or management experience. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 5s preferred.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word processing software; Excel spreadsheet software; Oracle accounting software; Oracle inventory software and Oracle manufacturing software.

Certificates and Licenses:

Bachelors Degree in Business, HR or Organizational Development

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages administrative personnel. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
