Vaco has a publicly traded software client in Irvine, CA that is seeking a Staff / Senior Accountant to join their team on a contract basis. The candidate will be responsible for bank reconciliations, and all related general accounting functions. Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and balance automated consolidation system by inputting data, scheduling required jobs, and verifying data
  • Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts
  • Manage the processing of cash receipts, recording of revenue and receivable and working closely with various departments to ensure that revenues and receivables are reconciled accurately
  • Staff Accountant is expected to perform the processing of functional and benefits expense allocations, monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets depreciation and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries, if necessary
  • Work with business teams and corporate functions to help improve financial results and efficiency
  • Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts
  • Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, employer's benefit costs, accruals and prepaid expenses
  • Support financial audits

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • 2 to 5 years accounting experience with financial statement preparation including Balance sheet, Income statement & Cash flow, month end close, variance analysis
  • Strong Excel skills with pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, and Sumifs
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • SAP experience is a plus
