Role: Senior Cost Accountant
Salary Range: $95,000-$110,000 (Potential for light flex) Bonus

4 days a week onsite with 1 day from home
Location: White Plains

The Cost Accountant is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting cost data to support management in decision-making, budgeting, and performance evaluation. This role ensures accurate cost allocation, monitors production expenses, and assists in developing cost-saving strategies to improve profitability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities

Cost Analysis & Control

Analyze production costs, material usage, labor efficiency, and overhead allocations.

Monitor cost variances and identify areas for improvement.

Develop and maintain standard costing systems and ensure data accuracy.

Budgeting & Forecasting
-
Assist in preparing annual budgets and cost forecasts.

Provide management with timely cost reports and variance analyses.

Support strategic planning with cost insights and financial projections.

Inventory Management
-
Review and reconcile inventory records with the general ledger.

Perform monthly/quarterly inventory valuation and adjustments.

Ensure compliance with inventory policies and cost accounting standards.

Reporting & Compliance
-
Prepare detailed cost reports, profitability analysis, and margin reviews.
-
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS), and internal controls.

Support internal and external audits by providing cost-related documentation.

Process Improvement
-
Recommend and implement process improvements to reduce waste and increase efficiency.

Collaborate with operations and procurement teams to optimize cost control measures.

Qualifications
-
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA preferred).

Experience:

2–5 years of experience in cost accounting, manufacturing, or similar industries.

Skills:
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).

Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
-
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
