Senior Accounting Manager POST NUMBER: 460536
Our client is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to lead the company’s accounting operations and play a key role in supporting strategic growth initiatives. This position offers an opportunity to oversee all aspects of the accounting function, enhance financial processes, and collaborate directly with executive leadership. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical accounting expertise with a forward-thinking, hands-on leadership approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and elevate the accounting function — managing daily operations including general ledger, reconciliations, AP, AR, and payroll while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Drive the close process — leading month-end and year-end activities, preparing timely and accurate financial statements, and providing actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Be a strategic business partner — collaborating with operations, FP&A, and leadership teams to connect financial results with business performance and drive data-based decision-making.
- Enhance financial visibility through reporting, analysis, and KPI development that provides clarity on trends, profitability, and cash flow.
- Own cost and inventory accounting — analyzing product margins, job costs, and overhead allocations to identify opportunities for improvement and strengthen profitability.
- Lead process improvement and system initiatives — streamlining workflows, optimizing ERP functionality, and introducing automation to support scalability.
- Mentor and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning efforts in partnership with executive leadership to ensure alignment with company goals.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the Controller and senior leadership team, contributing to key business discussions and strategic initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA track preferred.
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or management experience.
- Deep understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, and internal controls.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, construction, or other product-based environments strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of driving process improvements and implementing scalable accounting systems.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP platforms such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
This is a high-visibility opportunity for an experienced accounting leader who wants to make a real impact. The Senior Accounting Manager will serve as a bridge between accounting operations and executive strategy, helping shape the company’s financial infrastructure and positioning the organization for long-term success. You will have the chance to influence decision-making, mentor a talented team, and grow alongside a company that is scaling rapidly.
