Order Management and Billing Lead

Our client, a rapidly growing AI technology company, is seeking an experienced Order Management and Billing Lead to join their expanding finance organization. 

Location:
San Francisco, CA. This position is hybrid, with in-office expectations 2 days per week.

Job Description:
This is a high-impact opportunity to build and scale global billing operations in a fast-paced, innovative environment. The company is entering a transformative phase of growth and process improvement. 

Responsibilities:
  • Own the global billing lifecycle from contract provisioning through invoice generation, ensuring accuracy and scalability.
  • Drive operational excellence by establishing SLAs and automating manual processes.
  • Lead billing system configurations and integrations in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with deal desk and go-to-market teams to support seamless contract-to-billing execution.
  • Manage customer renewals and pre-launch billing testing for new products and pricing changes.
  • Support the month-end close and financial audits with accurate upstream data.
  • Implement compliance controls and audit-ready processes.
  • Deliver billing analytics and KPI dashboards for strategic insights.
  • Build and lead a high-performing billing operations team.

Requirements: 
  • 15 years of progressive billing operations experience in high-growth and public technology companies.
  • 5 years of leadership experience with a proven track record in scaling teams and driving performance.
  • Hands-on experience with modern billing systems and ERP integrations.
  • Strong understanding of revenue accounting principles (ASC 606).
  • Proven ability to drive automation and process improvements in fast-paced environments.
