Senior Risk Analyst POST NUMBER: 460505
Our client is sourcing a Senior Risk Analyst for a 6-month contract.
About the Opportunity
- Assess insolvency risk of CIRO Member Firms (Investment Dealers and Mutual Fund Dealers)
- Analyze Member Firms’ financial filings, business operations, and capital adequacy
- Monitor financially distressed firms by liaising with CIRO Managers/Examiners
- Research and evaluate operational, market, credit, and liquidity risks tied to new products, exemptions, and industry trends
- Review CIRO correspondence and assess impact of capital policy changes
- Support quarterly and integration assessment processes, including validation and calculation of assessment model inputs and outputs
- Validate Client Net Equity (CNE) deductions, Asset Locations, and determine Capital Deficiency Assessments
- Explain Risk Ratings and Assessments to Member Firms as needed
- Administer Assessment Appeal Procedures and ensure compliance with documentation and communication standards
- Prepare analysis and reports for Risk Committee, identifying key risks and proposing mitigation solutions
- Assist in administration of insolvent Member Firms and support special reviews or assignments
About You
- CPA designation, or CSE
- Relevant experience in audit or regulatory, wealth management, brokerages
- Exposure to CIRO/IIROC rules, filings, and brokerage back-office operations, compliance/regulatory
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills
- Familiarity with risk assessments and capital adequacy principles
