Salary: $190k-225k base plus bonus

Dynamic international real estate investment and development firm is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Tax Director to lead their tax department. This is a critical leadership role offering significant autonomy, reporting directly to upper management (including the CEO, Founder, President, and CFO).
The Opportunity & Culture
You will head tax reporting and compliance for our complex portfolio of sponsored properties and partnerships, including multi-property funds with numerous investors. Beyond the entity level, you will also oversee tax planning and filings for family office members and various trusts.
Key Responsibilities
- Tax Leadership: Lead a team of five tax professionals, focusing on development, mentoring, and continuous learning.
- Complex Compliance Oversight: Oversee the accurate and timely preparation of complex individual, partnership, S-corporation, trust, estate, gift, and state tax returns, particularly those involving significant real estate investments.
- Reporting & Filings: Manage the issuance of K-1s and tax returns for both entity-level and partnership-level reporting.
- Global Coordination: Oversee foreign tax advisors to ensure compliance with all international tax filing requirements.
- Process Improvement: Implement and maintain internal processes to streamline tax-related workflows, enhance operational efficiency, and maintain accurate tracking of tax estimates, refunds, and credits.
Qualifications & Requirements
- CPA required.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience providing federal tax compliance and consulting services, ideally within a professional services firm.
- A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience, including a demonstrated track record of mentoring and developing tax associates.
- Strong management, analytical, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to see the "big picture" as well as the details.
- Proficiency with CCH Access Software is strongly desired.
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in accounting, law, or business is highly desirable.
