Senior Finance Analyst
On-Site (North Aurora, Illinois) 

Position Overview
Our rapidly growing private-equity–backed manufacturing client is seeking a Senior Finance Analyst to join their team. This newly created role supports a high-volume industrial manufacturing environment and plays a critical part in driving financial visibility, cost accuracy, and operational decision-making across multiple production sites. The Senior Finance Analyst will partner closely with operations, engineering, sales, and corporate finance while leading forecasting, reporting, and analytical initiatives. This is a high-impact position with strong exposure to leadership and significant opportunity for upward mobility.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Support month-end close activities including accruals, freight analysis, and account reviews to ensure accuracy of the P&L and balance sheet.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.

  • Assist with internal and external audit requests, providing documentation and analysis as needed.

  • Contribute to both monthly and year-end close processes.

Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Support

  • Analyze standard costs, work-in-progress, raw materials, finished goods, and manufacturing variances.

  • Partner with operations and supply chain to improve cost accuracy and drive margin improvement.

  • Conduct detailed margin and variance analysis leveraging ERP data and Power BI dashboards.

  • Support profitable decision-making through cross-functional review of cost drivers, trends, and performance insights.

Forecasting & Business Support

  • Lead the preparation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting packages.

  • Support forecasting activities and conduct in-depth analysis of financial performance.

  • Deliver financial insights to leadership that influence planning, budgeting, and strategic initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a key liaison between finance, operations, sales, engineering, and shared services teams.

  • Participate in ERP-related initiatives, process improvements, and system integrations.

  • Provide ad hoc analysis to business unit leaders to support operational and commercial decision-making.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Partner closely with corporate accounting and FP&A teams to promote consistency and continuous improvement.

  • Share best practices and support knowledge transfer across departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting and/or finance experience.

  • Manufacturing industry experience with a strong foundation in cost accounting.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP, standard cost concepts, and financial planning.

  • Proficiency with ERP systems (Infor VISUAL, CSI/SyteLine, SAGE or similar) and advanced Excel/Power BI skills.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.

  • Self-starter with curiosity, initiative, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
