Job Title: Fund Accountant
Salary: $65,000 - $80,000/annually
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)
About the Firm: Our client is a leading private equity firm based in New York City, known for its dynamic investment strategies and collaborative culture. They are seeking a highly motivated Fund Accountant to join their growing team and play a key role in managing fund-level accounting and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting for private equity funds, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Manage quarterly and annual fund reporting, including investor capital statements and performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and partnership agreements.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors during audits and tax filings.
- Assist with cash management, capital calls, and distributions.
- Support the finance team with ad hoc projects and process improvements.
Qualifications
- CPA designation required.
- Big 4 public accounting experience with a focus on private equity or alternative investments.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in fund accounting within private equity or asset management.
- Strong understanding of partnership accounting and fund structures.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with fund accounting systems a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
