Treasury Analyst (Temporary, Potential to Convert)
Compensation: $50–$55/hour
Location: New York, NY (Starts 5 days on-site; hybrid flexibility possible)
Duration: 3 months, with potential to convert to permanent
Start Date: ASAP
Role Overview
A well-established organization is seeking a Treasury Analyst to provide hands-on support for complex banking, GL, and treasury operations. This is a temporary role with strong potential for conversion to permanent. The ideal candidate has Workday experience, strong banking knowledge, and comfort performing high-volume reconciliations and GL analysis.
The Treasury Analyst will report to the Controller & Interim CFO and support the Finance team in day-to-day treasury, accounting, and reporting activities.
Key Responsibilities

Perform complex, high-volume bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation

Conduct general ledger analysis, locating supporting documentation and resolving discrepancies

Support audit preparation activities and respond to ad hoc finance requests

Manage fixed assets and capitalization processes

Assist with property management and lease accounting tasks

Reconcile payroll accounts, prepaids, rental income/expenses, and other general ledger accounts

Oversee College Store sales and sales tax reporting

Prepare and maintain financial schedules, reports, and supporting documentation
If non-profit experience:

Support grant management, including restricted endowment funds, financial aid, and teaching/research funding

Assist with planned giving and split-interest investments

Provide oversight for small federal grants, including Work-Study program reconciliations

File claims and perform 941 and fundraising-related reconciliations
Required Qualifications
-
5–10 years of general ledger accounting/analysis experience (nonprofit experience a plus)

Proficiency in Workday required

Strong banking knowledge and experience with reconciliations

Experience managing high-volume GL and treasury activity
-
Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to locate documentation independently
