About the Opportunity
- Ensure an effective and timely month-end close by preparing and reviewing journal entries, intercompany accounts, prepaid expenses, inventory, accruals, and other balance sheet reconciliations.
- Review bank reconciliations across 17 bank accounts and 13 entities.
- Assist with budgeting and quarterly forecasting for business units and subsidiaries, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Prepare quarterly reporting package, including consolidated financial statements and variance reporting for the Board of Directors.
- Conduct detailed monthly and quarterly variance analyses (budget vs. actual, forecast vs. actual) and provide recommendations for business improvements.
- Liaise directly with external auditors for interim and annual audits, preparing documentation and explaining internal processes.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure adherence to the company's accounting policies, IFRS standards, and corporate governance.
- Maintain and update accounting and business process documentation.
- Identify and implement process improvements within general accounting and reporting.
- Support automation projects to improve billing accuracy and payment timeliness.
- Assist in tax compliance processes, including annual Employer Health Tax (EHT) remittances and quarterly/monthly HST filings.
- Complete ad-hoc financial analyses and participate in special projects as assigned.
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
- CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA preferred.
- 2 years of analytical or accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity environment.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – particularly Excel and PowerPoint – with experience developing financial models and presentations.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and internal control environments.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable, with a strong sense of ownership and confidentiality.
Pay Range:
$65,000- $70,000 per year
