Payroll and Accounting Coordinator POST NUMBER: 468761
Accounts Payable
- Set up and maintain vendor records in ERP system to ensure proper cost allocation and payment accuracy
- Review vendor invoices for approvals, supporting documentation, and coding prior to weekly payment processing
- Enter AP transactions accurately for reporting and financial tracking
- Process weekly EFT payment batches
- Maintain a clean audit trail and high data-entry accuracy standards
- Resolve vendor discrepancies in a timely and confidential manner
- Run aged payables reports, reconcile to the General Ledger, and monitor control schedules
- Follow established financial controls and auditable procedures
- Use payroll/timekeeping software for time approval, leave tracking, payroll processing, and reporting
- Process bi-weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees
- Compile payroll data including deductions, garnishments, and benefits
- Maintain payroll system data to ensure regulatory compliance
- Track and administer vacation, sick time, and other leave balances
- Maintain employee payroll records including benefit and deduction updates
- Perform payroll account reconciliations and allocate labour costs to appropriate cost centres
- Administer pension plan contributions and prepare internal payroll reports
- Complete required remittances and filings (source deductions, employer health tax, workers’ compensation, pension, and benefits)
- Set up and maintain payroll profiles for new and existing employees
- Verify payroll outputs, distribute pay statements, and reconcile payroll totals
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and government agencies
- Prepare year-end payroll reporting including T4s, T4As, summaries, and Records of Employment (ROEs)
- Participate in meetings and support additional accounting functions as required
About You
- 3–5 years of accounting and payroll experience, including payroll tax knowledge
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
- Payroll designation considered an asset
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems, payroll software, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Knowledge of bookkeeping, AP processes, and payroll procedures
- Strong attention to detail with high accuracy in data entry
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Professional communication skills and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
- Strong work ethic and collaborative team approach
- Ability to obtain required background screening
Pay Range
$30 - $33 / hour
