Accounting Manager POST NUMBER: 469263
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to support our accounting team on a temporary basis for 3–6 months, with potential for extension. This role will play a key part in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, and lease accounting under ASC 842. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to step in quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the month-end close process, including review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
- Lead and support lease accounting activities in compliance with ASC 842, including maintenance of lease schedules and related disclosures
- Ensure financial reporting is accurate and in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Review balance sheet and income statement fluctuations; prepare variance analyses
- Provide guidance and review work of staff accountants and senior accountants as needed
- Assist with audit support, including preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and internal controls
- Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, AP/AR, and operational teams
- Support ad hoc accounting projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including time in an Accounting Manager or similar lead role
- Required: Hands-on experience with ASC 842 (lease accounting)
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Prior experience managing or reviewing month-end close
- Experience working in mid-size to large organizations preferred
- ERP system experience (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar strongly preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to work independently and quickly adapt in a temporary/consultative capacity
Nice to Have
- CPA or CPA-track
- Public accounting or PE-backed company experience
- Prior interim or consulting assignments
