Senior Electromechanical Design Engineer POST NUMBER: 469610
We are partnering with a well?established organization in the power and energy space to identify a Senior Electromechanical Design Engineer.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys hands?on design work, cross?functional collaboration, and seeing products move from concept through production.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, testing, and support of new electromechanical and electronic products
- Create conceptual and detailed product models using 3D CAD tools
- Develop and execute verification and validation test plans, including test methods and acceptance criteria
- Design microprocessor?based controller products for power distribution and automation applications
- Design electronic solutions for smart grid applications, including analog and power supply designs
- Support new production builds, product modifications, and manufacturing transitions
- Perform First Article Inspections and part quality approvals (form, fit, function)
- Contribute to product documentation, packaging, safety labels, and compliance markings
- Ensure designs meet regulatory and industry standards (IEC, UL, CSA, NEMA, NEC)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 7–10 years of hands?on experience designing and testing electromechanical products (e.g., inverters, drives, servers, network switches)
- Experience with analog and mixed?signal circuit board design
- Strong background supporting manufacturing builds and product modifications
- Practical experience designing assemblies involving:
- Sheet metal
- PCBA mounting
- Cable harnesses
- Electrical contacts, terminals, receptacles, fasteners, and springs
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (sheet metal, plastic, cable routing)
- Experience with tolerance stack?up analysis
- Working knowledge of regulatory compliance and safety standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulation tools
- Understanding of EMI/EMC and thermal performance
- Experience designing packaging for electronic equipment
