Title  – Learning Designer - Store Operational Content
Duration : 8 months Contract with extension possibility
Work Environment: hybrid, 3 days working in the Mississauga office (Mon & Tue are must, 3rd day can be any day)
Hours: 37.5 working hours per week
Interview: 2 rounds of interview, with Portfolio to present

Position Summary
The Learning Designer supports the Senior Manager, Learning Design in development, research, design and evaluation of new training programs and the redesign of existing training programs. The role partners with the Learning Project Manager, business stakeholders, project teams, the systems implementation team and the client's Academy Facilitators during the design, content development and implementation lifecycle. They will also field requests for urgent content updates, provide learning consultation and manage ad hoc requests as required. The learning design function is guided by an evolving SLA which centres on user experience and the measurable effectiveness of training. The Learning Designer will develop and accelerate associate capabilities (frameworks, process, and systems) using the ADDIE instructional design methodology (assess, develop, design, implement, evaluate) using blended learning solutions. Strong written skills are a must.

What You'll Do
  • Assess, design, develop, and implement sustainable blended learning and knowledge management solutions relating to principles/frameworks, procedures, and technologies with the goal of maximizing learner experience, increasing knowledge retention, and providing flexible learning.
  • Audit, leverage, and adapt learning collateral from other client's Canada teams as well as their US/International partners.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure learning solutions directly address business needs, are aligned with corporate best practices, and effectively drive performance.
  • Leverage instructional design and digital media expertise, best practices, and knowledge into blended learning solutions that result in a positive user experience and behaviour change.
  • Develop learning that meets the proposed outcomes and delivers on learning metrics. Apply Level 1-4 evaluation (reaction, learning, transfer/behaviour, and impact) to measure the effectiveness of blended learning solutions and provide reports and recommendations for continuous improvement of learning initiatives.
  • If/when applicable, liaise with external learning vendors, including end to end project management of externally-developed learning solutions.
  • Actively maintain existing documentation and content to ensure it is up to date and technically validated.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and development. Make recommendations to streamline, modernize and evolve our learning function within Walmart.

Qualifications
  • In depth knowledge of and 3 years of experience in instructional design principles and practices, adult learning principles, interactive learning design and blended learning techniques (classroom design, e-learning, action learning, communities of practice, self-paced)
  • Proficiency with authoring software such as Articulate Storyline, as well as multimedia design tools such Adobe Pro (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, Animate)
  • Photography and Videography/ Editing and Narration expertise is a benefit
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) is a benefit
  • Experience with Axonify is a benefit
  • Strong written, and oral communication skills are a must
  • Self-starter and ability to take initiative to deliver results
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft office applications, specifically Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong relationship management and collaboration skills (internal and external)
