Our client is sourcing a Financial Analyst, Fixed Assets for a 12-month contract.
About the Opportunity
- Manage the full lifecycle of fixed assets including setup, classification, capitalization, transfers, and disposals.
- Record and reconcile depreciation and amortization; maintain detailed asset continuity schedules.
- Track and monitor approved capital projects to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review capital expenditure reports and analyze actual versus budget variances.
- Record and maintain lease-related accounting entries and supporting schedules.
- Post accruals related to capital expenditures and review for completeness and accuracy.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and assist with trial balance reviews across multiple entities.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure capital spending aligns with approved budgets.
- Provide financial analysis and support for business cases related to capital investments.
- Prepare supporting schedules for budgeting and forecasting, including future depreciation projections.
- Monitor prepaid accounts related to capital projects and track invoice processing.
- Maintain schedules for intangible assets and other long-term investments.
- Support audit processes by preparing documentation and responding to information requests.
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and applicable financial reporting standards.
About You
- Over five years of progressive accounting experience, including significant exposure to fixed asset and capital accounting.
- Strong experience managing asset accounting processes, including depreciation, amortization, and capital project tracking.
- Proficient in enterprise accounting systems for asset management and financial reporting.
- Advanced spreadsheet skills, including complex formulas, data analysis, and reporting tools.
- Experience preparing financial reports, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with attention to detail.
