Revenue Systems Analyst POST NUMBER: 469858
Our client is looking for a Revenue Systems Analyst for a 6-month project with potential to be hired full-time.
About the Opportunity
1. Revenue Accounting & ASC 606 Architecture (40%)
- The Revenue Reset: Audit the end-to-end Revenue Recognition process. Transition the organization from manual "Excel patches" to automated, system-driven revenue waterfalls within Chargebee and Sage Intacct.
- Data Cube Integrity: Partner with the Systems Manager to validate the Snowflake Customer Data Cube. Ensure the bridge between usage data and recognized revenue is a "Single Source of Truth" for Board-level NRR and Retention reporting.
- Technical Policy: Formalize the revenue accounting treatment for new product bundles or contract structures, ensuring immediate compliance with ASC 606.
- Workflow Modernization: Work alongside the Billing Operations Manager to design and deploy the new "Fresh AR" workflows. You provide the logic and system architecture; they provide the operational feedback and team execution.
- The CS-to-Finance Migration: Act as the strategic lead for moving AR responsibilities from Customer Success into Finance. Coordinate with Billing Ops to ensure a seamless "Handoff" of duties without disrupting daily cash flow.
- Fresh AR Health: Establish the "Zero-Defect" standard for all new FY26 invoices, ensuring Billing Ops has the tools to maintain a <30 day aging for all new business.
- Commission & Partner Automation: Design and launch the automated calculation engine for FY26 commissions and partner revenue-share accruals, removing the manual burden from the Billing team.
- Systems Interlock: Act as the functional lead for optimizing the data flow between Salesforce, Chargebee, and Sage. Eliminate the need for "manual CSV uploads" for new business.
- The Institutional Playbook: Author the comprehensive "Revenue & O2C SOP Library." Partner with the Billing Ops Manager to train the 2.5 FTEs on these new global standards.
About You
- CPA designated with audit experience
- Highly collaborative – ability to work alongside the Billing Operations Manager. They aren't there to "audit" the billing team; they are there to "equip" them with better tools and cleaner logic.
- Strategic Clarity: They align with the philosophy of eliminating confusion. They document their Excel tools and VBA code
- Semi-Automation Expert: They don't just "use" Excel; they build robust, scalable tools. They must be proficient in Power Query (to clean and transform messy CRM/Billing data) and Advanced Formulas (XLookups, Lambda, dynamic arrays).
- VBA/Macro Capabilities: They should have experience writing VBA to automate repetitive, multi-step tasks that the current system syncs are failing to handle
- ASC 606 Expert: Deep experience with multi-element arrangements, contract modifications, and variable consideration. They should be able to look at a "Fresh" FY26 contract and immediately define the revenue waterfall logic.
- Waterfall Logic: Proven ability to build and audit deferred revenue waterfalls. They should understand how to bridge "Billings" to "Recognized Revenue" with zero "plugs."
- NRR/Gross Retention Fluency: They understand the "why" behind the numbers. They know how usage data in a tool like Snowflake should interlock with financial data to produce the metrics the Board actually cares about.
- The SaaS Stack: Previous experience with Sage Intacct (or NetSuite/Zuora equivalents) is essential. They need to understand how "Quote-to-Cash" data breaks when it moves between systems.
- Data Integrity Advocate: They are obsessed with the "Golden Record." If a customer name is spelled three different ways across Salesforce, Chargebee, and Sage, it keeps them up at night until it is fixed.
