Accounting Manager
Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)
An established, growth-oriented organization is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities/business lines. Reporting to senior accounting leadership, this role is responsible for driving accurate financial reporting, managing close processes, and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP while also developing a high-performing accounting team and strengthening internal controls.
Core Responsibilities
Close & Financial Reporting

Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles for multiple business units, ensuring deadlines and accuracy standards are consistently met

Review journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses to confirm proper recording of revenue, expenses, and balance sheet activity

Prepare financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules for leadership review
Technical Accounting & Compliance

Ensure accounting practices align with U.S. GAAP and internal policies

Assist in the design and enhancement of internal controls, procedures, and risk mitigation practices

Support external audits, lender reporting, and other compliance-related requirements
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership

Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven team environment

Provide guidance, training, and ongoing coaching to support professional growth

Partner with finance, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication across departments
Process Optimization

Evaluate existing systems and workflows to identify opportunities for increased efficiency, automation, and accuracy

Implement process improvements that enhance scalability and operational effectiveness within the accounting function
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
-
5 years of progressive accounting or financial management experience

Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles
-
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment
-
Experience leading or supervising accounting teams preferred

CPA or similar certification is a plus
-
Familiarity with ERP platforms (e.g., cloud-based accounting systems) and modern financial tools is advantageous
