JOB SUMMARY

Enterprise Resiliency Specialist – Intermediate or Senior will play a major role in high-visibility Enterprise Resiliency/Preparedness and Response, responsible for coordinating and facilitating activities for sustaining preparedness/response capabilities and enable Citizens to progress through a crisis or other disruptive event.

 

JOB DUTIES 

Models’ ethical behavior and executes job responsibilities in accordance with Citizen’s core values, ethics, and information protection policies.

  • Identify, develop, implement, coordinate, and facilitate activities for the Enterprise Resiliency Program disciplines (Technology Resiliency and Catastrophe Assurance or Business Resiliency and Crisis Management) with a primary focus on two or more and providing guidance to team members on non-primary responsibilities. Mentor less experienced resiliency specialists and others to expand their skill set and ensure appropriate resiliency principles and practices are applied in the completion of integrated assignments.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain collaborative partnerships with enterprise business, technology leaders, subject matter experts and support teams through understanding the business to influence, define, and assist in implementation of resiliency practices to mitigate risk and incorporate into day-to-day strategic and operational activities. Foster relationships with key enterprise leaders and staff to influence, raise awareness, and ensure alignment of resiliency professional practices within enterprise strategic initiatives.
  • Resiliency Planning, Solution Design, and Validation: Assess risk, current capabilities and align resiliency requirements with business needs, define and implement strategies, collaborate with SMEs to assist in the design of technical and business solutions that meet strategic and operational business objectives and validate effectiveness for achieving a continuous state of preparedness to respond to adverse and disruptive events. For primary assigned Enterprise Resiliency Program disciplines, continue to plan, maintain, improve, and support current enterprise resiliency program elements and validate effectiveness.
  • Resiliency Consulting, Training and Awareness: As SME, collaborate and provide guidance on IT and Enterprise projects with systems and business teams to ensure resiliency requirements for enterprise and IT initiatives are evaluated, defined, implemented, and validated. Promote resiliency for sustainable preparedness and response processes of integrated enterprise-wide business and technology practices through facilitation of planning, training, awareness, continuous risk analysis and process improvement activities to ensure a constant state of readiness for improved operational resiliency.
  • Innovation: Analyze crisis events and track resiliency practices leveraged through insight gained from continuous learning opportunities and participation in professional industry organizations to proactively monitor threats, potential impacts, and emerging trends. Improve Citizens’ state of readiness through the exploration of innovative technologies and participation in resiliency/readiness assessments for enterprise strategic initiatives and solutions with vendors, business, and technology teams and implementation of resiliency solutions.
  • Governance: Facilitate, oversee, and monitor enterprise-wide activities for compliance to the Enterprise Resiliency Program policy and standards. As a resiliency SME provide guidance through participation in enterprise and technology governance committees, solicitation activities and other enterprise business processes to ensure timeliness and effectiveness of enterprise business and technology resiliency requirements are met, thus, minimizing the impact to our policy holders, key stakeholders, and Citizens’ reputation.

 

KNOWLEDGE

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of Business Continuity Professional Practices/Industry guidelines.
  • Strong understanding of Business Management/administrative principles.
  • Advanced knowledge Infrastructure; Applications; Data; Network; Integrations; Security Strong understanding of P & C Insurance and business processes.
  • Strong understanding of Cloud Service Models (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS).
  • Broad knowledge of IT management processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of business processes Understanding of emerging technologies and correlation of impact on current and future strategic initiatives.
  • Experience in Emergency, Incident, CAT Preparedness and Response.
  • Knowledge of service providers/vendor management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (required)

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • 10 years of progressive Information Technology and Business Process experience, with extensive knowledge of IT disaster recovery/failover methodologies, business continuity recovery/resiliency solutions.
  • Insurance industry experience with a focus on property and casualty insurance, understanding of response and preparedness requirements in catastrophic prone regions.
  • Actual incident/response management experience in technology/business interruptions or catastrophic events.
  • Knowledge of Business Continuity Professional Practices, ISO Standards for Business Continuity Management, NIST 800-53, COBIT framework and practices; ITIL Foundations, experience in coordinating incident and catastrophic preparedness and response activities across the enterprise including information technology.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

3 experience in Information Technology, including multiple IT disciplines (such as Systems Engineer, Operations, Change Management, Software Development, and Disaster Recovery/redundancy).

3 to 5 years’ experience and progressive responsibility in developing, implementing, planning of alternate business/ system strategies, coordinating, planning, and managing IT recovery plans for worst-case scenarios, system recovery/resiliency testing, including program governance with oversight of integration with business processing.

1-3 years’ experience in Catastrophe Preparation/Response activities in IT and across the enterprise, coordinating with cross functional business processes and a focus on property and casualty insurance.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Bachelor’s Degree OR 3 years relevant experience, OR a combination of college education and relevant experience equivalent to 3 years
