Associate Director, Salesforce Effectiveness
Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly analytical Associate Director of Sales Force Effectiveness to support and elevate commercial performance through data?driven insights, strategic alignment, and cross?functional collaboration. This is a highly visible role that plays a critical part in enabling sales efficiency, optimizing field operations, and translating complex analytics into actionable business strategies.
The ideal candidate blends strong analytical capabilities with exceptional communication and influence skills. You will partner closely with sales leadership and a wide range of internal stakeholders to design and implement incentive compensation plans, optimize territory structures, and provide strategic insights that drive business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of incentive compensation programs, including performance tracking and goal attainment reporting
- Partner with sales leadership to support business planning, field objectives, and execution strategies
- Collaborate proactively with regional sales leaders to identify key business questions (e.g., market trends, sales performance, call planning, KPIs) and deliver real?time, actionable insights
- Own territory alignment, sizing, and workload optimization initiatives to improve sales force efficiency and coverage
- Drive strategic and operational initiatives through strong cross?functional coordination and stakeholder alignment
- Partner with business insights and forecasting teams to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment across reporting and analytics
- Represent sales force priorities in cross?functional forums and identify follow?up actions to support execution
- Build strong relationships across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Medical, Operations, and Analytics teams to enable integrated decision?making
- Support development of commercial strategies including customer segmentation, targeting, call planning, reach and frequency, and performance measurement
- Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies (including AI?enabled solutions) to enhance sales force effectiveness
- Manage external vendors supporting sales force effectiveness initiatives and projects
- Prepare and deliver clear, compelling insights and recommendations to senior leaders and executive stakeholders
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support business objectives
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of relevant professional experience, or Master’s degree with 10 years of experience
- Background in management consulting and/or commercial analytics, sales operations, or marketing analytics within a complex, matrixed environment
- Strong working knowledge of relational data and the ability to translate technical requirements between business stakeholders and technical teams
- Proven ability to analyze, interpret, and synthesize data into clear, audience?appropriate insights and presentations
- Demonstrated experience independently producing complex reports and analyses
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI)
- Working knowledge of CRM and analytics platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Veeva, Tableau)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills across all organizational levels, including senior executives
- Strong emotional intelligence, professionalism, discretion, and organizational awareness
- Ability to lead through influence without direct authority and foster collaborative partnerships
- Comfortable operating in fast?paced, evolving environments with shifting priorities
- Self?starter with intellectual curiosity, strong problem?solving skills, and adaptability
- Experience working with matrixed teams and managing cross?functional projects
Preferred
- Experience supporting commercial teams in rare or specialty disease areas
- Prior people management or team leadership experience

- the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
