Our client is sourcing a Financial Analyst for a 3-month contract.
About the Opportunity
- Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles by preparing journal entries, accruals, and analyzing financial variances.
- Develop and maintain organized supporting schedules and documentation in alignment with IFRS and internal accounting frameworks.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations, identify inconsistencies, and resolve variances in a timely manner.
- Ensure all reconciliation files and supporting records are structured, accurate, and audit-ready.
- Assist in maintaining and enhancing internal control documentation, including process narratives and control testing.
- Compile and validate audit materials, supporting external audit requirements and coordinating responses to client information requests.
- Participate in inventory count activities, including variance analysis and recording adjustments where necessary.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (operations, supply chain, finance) to improve inventory accuracy and strengthen controls.
- Support preparation of financial reporting materials required for regulatory filings in a public-company environment.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS and Canadian reporting standards across all assigned financial processes.
About You
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, ideally within a publicly accountable organization.
- Strong understanding and practical application of IFRS.
- Hands-on experience with period-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and audit support.
- Proven ability to prepare detailed reconciliations and supporting financial documentation.
- Experience working with external auditors and managing audit-related deliverables.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, complex formulas, data analysis).
- High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments.
