Role: Accounts Receivable Supervisor 
Location: Manhattan. NY 
Hybrid schedule: 3 days a week onsite 
Salary Range: $70,0000-$80,000

The Accounts Receivable Supervisor is responsible for overseeing accounts receivable operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of cash applications, billing, and refunds. This role plays a key part in maintaining financial accuracy, improving processes, and supporting overall accounting operations within a fast-paced property management environment.

This position also provides leadership to AR team members, collaborates cross-functionally with property management and finance teams, and contributes to process enhancements and reporting improvements.

This is a full-time hybrid role, requiring three days per week in-office.


Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day accounts receivable functions, including cash applications, billing, and refund processing.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all AR transactions and related bookkeeping activities.
  • Review and approve refunds, including move-in deposits processed through payment portals.
  • Troubleshoot discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently.

Team Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Manage and support AR team members, providing guidance and oversight to ensure productivity and accuracy.
  • Partner with leadership to identify and implement process improvements and reporting enhancements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workflows and system utilization.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Communicate professionally with residents, shareholders, and stakeholders regarding AR inquiries and discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with Property Managers, Financial Analysts, and executive stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure proper coding and financial accuracy of transactions.

Financial Support & Reconciliation

  • Assist with posting physical check payments and ensure accurate system entry.
  • Support monthly bank reconciliations by researching and resolving outstanding items as needed.
  • Contribute to broader accounting and organizational objectives through ad hoc tasks and projects.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or property management accounting.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with property management or advanced accounting systems.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Prior accounts receivable experience in the real estate industry required, with a focus on rental properties.
  • Experience with condominium and co-op accounting is a plus.
  • Knowledge of property management systems such as Yardi or similar platforms preferred.
  • Familiarity with payment processing platforms (e.g., ClickPay or similar) is a plus.
  • Experience with tools such as BoardPackager or similar systems preferred.
  • Prior supervisory or management experience is a plus.
