Senior Financial Analyst POST NUMBER: 474821
We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for a 3 month contract opportunity to manage full cycle accounting operations for our growing SaaS business. This role requires strong IFRS knowledge and hands-on experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash flow management in a fast-paced technology environment. The ideal candidate will support monthly close processes while ensuring compliance with IFRS standards and SaaS-specific accounting requirements.
About the Opportunity
Revenue & Accounts Receivable Management
- Oversee subscription revenue recognition under IFRS 15 standards
- Manage monthly AR aging and collections process
- Prepare and analyze customer invoicing and billing reconciliations
- Handle contract modifications and revenue deferrals for multi-year agreements
- Support ASC 606/IFRS 15 compliance for complex subscription arrangements
- Monitor key SaaS metrics (ARR, MRR, churn, customer lifetime value)
- Process vendor invoices and ensure accurate coding and approvals
- Manage payment runs and vendor reconciliations
- Handle month-end accruals for technology licenses, hosting, and service providers
- Coordinate with procurement team on vendor setup and contract terms
- Maintain accurate three-way matching for technology and professional services
- Prepare daily and weekly cash flow forecasts
- Monitor bank account reconciliations and cash position
- Analyze cash conversion cycles and working capital trends
- Support foreign exchange accounting and hedging activities (if applicable)
- Coordinate with banking partners on credit facilities and cash management
- Lead assigned areas of monthly close process (target 5-7 business days)
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
- Support quarterly IFRS financial statement preparation
- Maintain supporting documentation for external auditors
- Analyze monthly financial results and provide variance explanations
- Calculate and report on key SaaS performance metrics
- Analyze subscription cohorts and customer retention rates
- Support pricing strategy through unit economics analysis
- Prepare management reporting on bookings, billings, and revenue trends
- Collaborate with sales operations on commission calculations
About You
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in SaaS or technology companies
- Strong knowledge of IFRS standards, particularly IFRS 15 (Revenue Recognition)
- Experience with subscription-based revenue models
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems (NetSuite, Sage, etc.)
- Understanding of SaaS business models and key performance indicators
- CPA designation or progress toward certification
- Experience with revenue recognition software (RevPro, Zuora, etc.)
- Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements
- Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce) and billing platforms
- Experience with cloud-based accounting systems and automation tools
- Previous Big 4 or technology company experience
- Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
- Advanced Excel modeling and reporting capabilities
- Experience with revenue recognition and billing platforms
- Knowledge of business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI)
- Understanding of API integrations and data flows
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Process improvement mindset and systems thinking
- Comfort with technology and automation initiatives
